OUR STORY
We are Bigger Heart Zanzibar, a growing charity based in Wales. We work with children and young people in Zanzibar, Tanzania and are always thinking of new projects that can help our target demographic. The Charity began in 2009, when Nawal, one of the co-founders decided to share she had witnessed on her trip to Zanzibar with her school.
CURRENT FOCUS
We are currently collecting sanitary products and are focusing on health. We are trying to raise money to get an echo machine. We also accept any donations such as clothing, stationary, toys and other items that are in good condition.
OUR CAUSES
EDUCATION
One of the main objectives of the charity is helping children in education. We sponsor children so that they have the opportunity to attend school.
FORMING LINKS
The connection between Zanzibar and Wales is something that is very important to us. Our cultural exchange project helped students learn about one another.
HEALTH
One of our main focuses is helping children and young people suffering with heart conditions in Zanzibar. We also conduct fun activities for students.
Activities on the beach
As a volunteer, you'll not only get to explore parts of Zanzibar, but also form connections with the children. One of our aims is to ensure that the students get to wind down and enjoy themselves after a long day of school. This is part of our well-being schemes.
